All our cashmere scarves, bandanas, windboards, beanies, mittens, ponchos, and blankets are made of 100% cashmere. Cashmere is the fine undercoat of the cashmere goat. This natural fiber is exceptionally soft, lightweight, and yet provides excellent warmth.
Material, Origin & Quality
What material are your scarves and accessories made of?
Where and how are your cashmere pieces produced?
Our cashmere pieces are created in close collaboration with selected, certified workshops in Nepal that have been recognized by the Federation of Nepal. There, craftsmanship is an integral part of production, from the processing of the yarn down to every detail. This results in pieces with character that you can feel. All styles are designed by us in Germany. Read more about this in our article A look at Nepal.
Does my piece look exactly like the photos in the shop?
Fast – and that is exactly what makes it special. Our pieces are crafted with a lot of handwork in Nepal. They are dyed on-site and dried in the sun. This is why every piece may vary slightly from the product photos:
- in shade and color gradient
- in the placement of the pattern
- in the fringes
- in the dimensions
Especially with tie-dye, batik, and ice dye, no two pieces are alike. Additionally, every screen displays colors slightly differently. We photograph our styles as true to color as possible, yet small differences between the photo and the original are normal. This makes your piece a unique item with its own character.
Does cashmere itch?
High-quality cashmere generally does not itch. The fibers are significantly finer than normal sheep's wool and therefore feel especially soft against the skin – ideal for scarves and shawls that you wear directly around your neck. With every wear and wash, cashmere even becomes a little softer.
Why does my cashmere pill?
Pilling is perfectly normal for cashmere and is not a quality defect. In areas with high friction, short, particularly fine fibers loosen and tangle on the surface, for example on a coat collar or under bag straps. This usually subsides significantly after the first few weeks. You can easily remove the pills with a cashmere comb.
Can I wear cashmere in the summer too?
Absolutely – for us, it's "not a seasonal thing." Cashmere regulates temperature and is breathable: it warms you when it's cold and won't get too hot in milder temperatures. Lightweight pieces are perfect companions for spring, cool summer evenings, and traveling, for example:

What is the difference between a scarf, a medium scarf, a bandana, and a windboard?
- Scarves: our large, cozy cashmere scarves – perfect for wrapping multiple times or wearing as a shawl over the shoulders.
- Medium scarves: slightly smaller, ideal as an uncomplicated everyday companion.
- Bandanas & Bandanas XL: triangular cashmere scarves, with or without fringe – for your neck, in your hair, or on your bag.
- Windboards: small neckerchiefs – a small piece, a big statement.
You can find the exact dimensions on each product page.
Care & Storage
How do I wash my cashmere scarf correctly?
You don't need to wash cashmere often. Frequently, it is enough to let your piece air out in the fresh air. If you do wash it, follow these steps:
- Hand wash in cold to lukewarm water with a special cashmere or wool detergent, e.g., our Cashmere Shampoo.
- Let your piece soak for 10–15 minutes.
- Do not rub or scrub, only knead gently.
- Rinse carefully with clear, cold water and gently squeeze out the water; do not wring.
- Lay flat to dry on a towel. Do not hang, do not put in the dryer, and do not place on a heater.
- Smooth the fringe over the edge so it retains its shape.
You can find all the details in our guide: How to properly care for cashmere.
Can cashmere go in the washing machine?
Yes, if you are careful:
- Select the wool or hand wash cycle or a gentle cycle at a cold temperature.
- Use a cashmere detergent like our Cashmere Shampoo.
- Place your piece in a laundry bag.
- Afterward, let it dry flat as you would with hand washing.
For particularly delicate pieces with fringe, we recommend hand washing.
How is the best way to store cashmere – and protect it from moths?
- Store only when clean: Skin flakes, perfume, and food residue attract moths. Therefore, wash or air out your piece before storing it in the closet for an extended period.
- Fold instead of hang: Fold cashmere loosely so it doesn't stretch out.
- Pack in breathable materials: A cotton bag or fabric box is ideal. Please avoid plastic bags, as moisture accumulates in them.
- Natural moth protection: Cedar wood or lavender sachets in the closet keep moths away.
- Store in a cool, dry, and dark place: Direct sunlight can fade the colors over time.
- Occasional rest and fresh air: Let your piece rest for one or two days after wearing it; this allows the fibers to recover.
How do I remove pilling from my cashmere?
The gentlest way to do this is with a cashmere comb:
- Lay your piece flat.
- Using light, short strokes, brush over the affected areas in one direction.
- Please do not use a razor or a lint roller with strong adhesive, as this can damage the delicate fibers.
Do you offer a repair service?
We do not currently offer our own repair service. However, with the right care, your piece will stay beautiful for a long time – through every season, for many years to come.
